Two Storeys or more? Your lifts must always be working!
If your premises have two or more storeys and are fitted with lifts, then you will know that under new legislation, the lift has to be kept operational, even if there is a power cut or other emergency. This means that infirm or wheelchair-bound patients can still exit the floor or the building quickly and safely.
As a result of this legislation, in the event of a power cut your lift(s) must be serviced by a stand-by generator, and this must have a tank of fuel ready for use. The danger is that the fuel, if left in storage for any length of time, will become contaminated and lead to sudden breakdowns, with loss of power. See ‘Why is Fuel Polishing Necessary’.
|
Our role is to help you to keep the fuel in tip-top condition, so that the generator can be run straightaway, and kept running for hours if necessary, assuming you have a large enough fuel store.
Testing Service
We offer a FREE testing service to establish the present state of your stored fuel. If contamination is present, we will propose a programme of regular visits to clean, polish and condition the fuel. See ‘Testing Service’.
We visit you.
Our DFC engineer will visit you every 6 months (or 9 months, or perhaps 12 months, depending on a number of factors) and ‘polish’ your fuel using our conditioning machine – see ‘What is Fuel Polishing?’.
